Beyond the rim of the star light...
Yesterday I listened to the Star Trek TOS theme song to figure out how to play it on the piano (just the melody part) and at first it seemed pretty tricky. It seemed to be in the key on B, which has five sharps. So on the piano, that’s more black notes than white. Yikes!

Reassurance
Just Like Spock was very well received at the Songwriters’ Circle on Monday! I had not been feeling confident about it at all, previous to that, but now I’ve seen how enjoyable it is (which is, of course, the whole point) and I no longer have that feeling of “I need to rewrite it all from scratch!” Hooray!

I’m looking forward to bringing the new song, Just Like Spock, to the songwriters’ circle tomorrow, because it started out a silly joke, and ended up gaining some serious bits, and I’m not quite sure what to do about that. Recording in the Powder Room
